Best Tiki Bars In Washington DC

Looking for tropical getaway after a long week of the daily grind in DC? How about Hawaiian scenery with a big tall glass of paradise? If you are on the Virginia side of DC, try Whitlow on Wilson’s Rooftop Tiki Bar. The whole roof has a traditional tiki bar look. The restaurant has plenty of space for romantic ambience and is perfect for both small and large groups. Plus, there are wide screen televisions across the entire bar for sport enthusiasts who want a little fresh air. Jack Rose Dining Saloon is one of two tiki bars in Adams Morgan and it’s the bar with the most authentic tiki bar look in the DC area. The tiki bar is a side bar off the rooftop the establishment. The delicious drinks, with names like Painkiller DC and Hawaiian Dream, make up for the lack of space in the bar and provide a great getaway from the humdrum of the work week.

In the heart of DC, close to Chinatown, Washington Convention and the Verizon Center is Hogo. The restaurant has more of a Caribbean rum bar vibe, but the tiki drinks are amazing. They have everything from Inca Gold to Blackheart Punch. A must-try drink is the Volcano Bowl, which is large enough for a party of four. Tuesday is the official tiki bar theme night, but any night is a good night to drop by.

The other tiki bar in Adams Morgan, Madam’s Organ is primarily a blues and jazz club but has a great tiki bar on its roof top level. Madam’s Organ specialty tiki drink, Madam’s Peach, is not to be missed. Between it and the  live music in the club, Madam’s Organ provides Ia very intimate space to unwind from the day. Note that there is a cover charge but the performances are worth it.

Right in the middle of the business district of DC,  the upscale sophisticated watering hole Dirty Martini’s added a tiki bar last year. Fitting with the streamlined decor  of the rest of the establishment, the rooftop tiki bar has a modern look. Great for small groups that want to unwind after a long day at work. It is on the rooftop. The tiki bar is only open Wednesday to Friday at 5 p.m.
